Ritani Review: A meaningful brand offering price matching with deep history in the NYC jewelry trade

Ritani is the prime diamond source jeweler for all your diamond and diamond engagement ring needs. They are the jeweler most likely to have the largest selection of diamonds at the critical $2,500 and lower budget of most consumers

This guide aims to provide comprehensive information to assist consumers in making informed purchase decisions. We carefully analyze every diamond jewelry and diamond engagement ring retailer to deliver the best advice on how to optimize value and where to get the most for your money. Our goal is to organize and present all the things that consumers should know before buying. We writes these articles personally (never with AI) and we update them regularly based upon our understanding only an insider would know. Our Editor has spent four decades as a global leader in the diamond jewelry industry having led six wholesale and retail jewelry companies, been a select client of DeBeers and a pioneer in the birth of lab grown diamonds. His family has been in the diamond business for over a century.

Purchasing a diamond or diamond engagement ring is a significant investment and can be intimidating and even frightening. Consumers often worry about making informed decisions and finding trustworthy retailers. When purchasing a product with which one is unfamiliar, it is important to invest the time to get educated on both the product, and the sellers of that product. A diamond engagement ring will symbolize a lifetime commitment and is a permanent display to friends, family and colleagues. The diamond, ring design, quality and the craftsmanship must meet or exceed all expectations. All data referenced in these reviews are as of the date of the review, we are not responsible for updating information as prices change constantly. Also, we are not compensated to write these reviews as they are independent of any given retailer or brand.

Ritani Company Overview

RITANI Review 2025: Innovators in transparency and omnichannel sale of Diamonds, Diamond Engagement Rings, Wedding Bands and Jewelry

This in-depth review of Ritani, examines and evaluates its history and uniqueness as a place to buy the diamond, diamond engagement ring or diamond jewelry of your dreams. We will discuss their ground-breaking transparent pricing system, their nationwide in person capabilities and the exceptional prices and value they offer consumers.

Introduction to the Ritani Brand

Ritani was founded by one of America's premier diamond cutting families, the Julius Klein Group / Grandview Klein in 1999 as a luxury engagement ring brand and around 2012 assumed its current form as an ecommerce diamond and jewelry retail jeweler. In the 1980’s our Editor remembers meeting Moti Klein of the group when his own father, then the largest uncut diamond dealer in New York, would sell the Kleins uncut diamonds from his substantial DeBeers site allocation. Moti and his family were titans of 47th Street and the Diamond Dealers Club of New York, which at that time was perhaps the most important bourse and regulatory body in the diamond world. The Kleins were and are among the largest and most respected diamantaires in the United States and internationally.

In 2014 Cantor Ventures, a group controlled by our current U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, became a partner with the Kleins in Ritani. Today, and for some time, the company has been run by Joel Klein, though it is unclear in what ways the ownership may have changed or evolved. Certainly the company has pivoted from its beginnings as a natural diamond engagement ring brand to what is today a leading ecommerce natural and lab grown diamond jewelry company. While many websites claim to be bringing transparency and ease of use to the buying process, Ritani really does.

Ritani Brand Heritage, Background and Evolution

Ritani is the only major online diamond jewelry company whose heritage emanates from 47th Street in New York City. The Julius Klein Group, who founded Ritani, initially consisted of two brothers, both immigrants and holocaust survivors. The company they began in 1948 now extends to the fourth generation, and is living proof of the American dream and the promise this country holds. From humble beginnings as diamond cutters they soon had their own factories in New York. Later the group added diamond cutting factories as far away as Botswana and Namibia. Eventually they became a major client of De Beers, establishing Klein as a premier wholesaler of finely cut and polished diamonds to quality retailers worldwide. Of all the top online diamond jewelers, Ritani is the only one owned by a prime source diamond company. You can’t get any closer to the source than when you are buying from Ritani.

Ritani Product Range and Quality

Ritani Diamonds

Ritani offers as broad and deep an offering of diamonds as any shopper will need, from the ordinary to the extraordinary. They have everything from a ⅓ of a carat lab grown emerald cut for $110 to a 20.03 carat natural oval cut for more than $900,000, with every stop in between.

Ritani and their owners have adhered strictly to the Kimberley Process, the global protocol created by the diamond trade to help abet the mining and the sale of conflict diamonds. They are also longstanding members of the Responsible Jewelry Council, the leading agency in the United States focused on sustainability and ethical business practices, respectful of both people and the environment. Ritani, through its parent company, cuts and polishes their own diamonds in factories in Botswana, Namibia, South Africa and New York. They were early advocates of creating jobs in African mining countries, opening their Botswana factory several decades ago.

As prime source cutters and polishers Ritani really knows the cost of a diamond. Rather than conceal this from consumers they alone amongst all in our survey group share that cost for every one of the hundreds of thousands of diamonds they offer for sale, natural and lab grown. Their exclusive Transparent Diamond Pricing feature shows consumers the raw cost, fulfillment overheads and Ritani’s profit on every diamond as shown in the example below of a 1ct natural diamond for $2,107:

Ritani acts as a wholesaler of lab grown diamonds, where they are also transparent in revealing their cost. Our Editor remembers several of their lab grown diamond suppliers aggrieved and upset about this. They were selling Ritani at a much lower price than their other customers. When those customers saw this they demanded the same price as Ritani.

A diamond shopper will not find anywhere a better place to learn and educate themselves about diamonds than on the Ritani website. Regardless of where consumers may ultimately choose to purchase we strongly recommend all shoppers read Ritani’s Ultimate Diamond Buying Guide. It is the most detailed, comprehensive and accessible guide we have found. Better still, their library of guides contains nearly 80 individual guides for any diamond, diamond engagement ring or diamond jewelry you may be considering. These guides range from something as general as The Ultimate 1 Carat Ring Buying Guide to the esoteric How to Buy and Asscher-Cut Diamond Engagement Ring to the question on every buyer’s mind, How and Where to Buy the Cheapest Engagement Ring. More transparency from the company that puts truth and openness first.

Ritani are old school diamond experts who hail from a time when a person’s word, reputation and good name were the foundation upon which a business was built and sustained. The times may have changed for others, but not for them. Our Editor remembers fondly the multi-million dollar deals his father did with their owners all on a handshake without any lawyers or written contracts. Ritani may not dazzle consumers with gorgeous models and flashy copywriting on their website. But they will inspire confidence in any consumer for their expertise and generations of business ethics as people of principle. Additionally, their transparency and their prices will dazzle diamond shoppers anywhere.

Ritani Natural Diamonds

Ritani had 141,887 natural diamonds for sale when our analysts audited their website in late March of 2025. All but a dozen were certified by the Gemological Institute of America, the GIA. This is critically important because the GIA is the strictest gemological grading laboratory, which assures consumers of the quality and value of their diamond purchase. Here is an example of a GIA certificate. Here is a sample GIA certificate:

Purchasing a GIA certified diamond ensures that Ritani natural diamond customers receive gems evaluated by the industry’s most respected grading authority–known for its strict standards in assessing the 4C’s, cut, color, clarity and carat weight ( more on this later). The other 12 diamonds were certified by the equally prestigious but very small American Gem Society Laboratories, AGSL, which was recently absorbed into the GIA. Ritani will not sell natural diamonds certified by any other gemological laboratory. We agree with this decision and advise that customers buying a natural diamond only consider those certified by the GIA.

Our Editor and our team of experts have produced a detailed analysis of the different natural diamond cuts and shapes offered by Ritani in late March 2025:

This more than ample selection covers all shapes, sizes and qualities any buyer of natural diamonds could imagine wanting.

Ritani also curates their natural diamonds for quality. 90% of the natural diamonds they offer for sale are graded by the GIA as ‘colorless’ or ‘near colorless’:

We do not advise shoppers to buy a natural diamond below a J color and prefer if ‘I’ is the lowest a customer should consider.

But what makes shopping at Ritani such a safe place to search for a diamond is that 80% of their round diamonds are also Ideal cut, the very best in the world. An Ideal cut will refract light so magnificently that the fire will overpower the color of a near colorless diamond and it will be far less apparent–especially after setting.

But there is more. Ritani also curates their round diamonds for the cut. 79,822 of the 98,914 natural diamonds for sale on Ritani have been certified as ideal by the GIA. Many online jewelers will claim their diamonds are ideal cut regardless of the shape. But real diamond cutters know only a round can be assigned a GIA grade of Ideal because only round diamonds can have their cut graded as ‘Excellent”. Once again, Ritani demonstrates their transparency. It is important for a consumer to know they can rely on Ritani not to elaborate, exaggerate or claim anything about their diamond’s quality that has not been certified by the GIA. That is not what diamond experts with four generations of earned industry trust and respect ever do. The Klein family name is not for sale.

  • 100% are GIA-certified

  • 90% are colorless or near colorless

  • 80% of rounds are GIA certified as Ideal cut

Ritani Lab Grown Diamonds

Ritani is a leader in the diamond trade and as such were early entrants into the sale of lab grown diamonds. That is as early as they could. DeBeers forced all their clients to sign an agreement that they would never handle lab grown diamonds in any way shape or form. Then in the summer of 2018, DeBeers announced that they were launching their own lab grown online retailer. It must be nice to be a monopoly. Ritani added lab grown diamonds to their website within months of DeBeers’ launch of their lab grown diamond retailer. Ritani quickly became a leader in the retailing of lab grown diamonds. At the time of our survey they offered for sale more lab grown diamonds than any of these major online jewelry brands:

But they also have the most diamonds in the range buyers should want. Our Co- Founders were early pioneers in the validation and acceptance of lab grown diamonds in 2017. As the technology for growing gem quality diamonds has improved, accelerated and migrated to India, the price of lab grown diamonds have come down enormously. They are now at a low enough cost that our Co-Founders strongly advise consumers to only consider buying the best, with 1 carat, F VS2, ideal cut rounds as the minimum (more on this later). In diamonds that are this shape and quality as a minimum, the gap between the amount of diamonds Ritani offers consumers and all others widens even further.

We appreciate that Ritani does not clutter their site with smaller sizes of lab grown diamonds, which would only serve to confuse diamond shoppers. With an ideal cut 1.14 carat, F VS2 lab grown diamond selling for $436 and a 2.18 carat selling for $956 , consumers should not consider anything less than a full 1 carat diamond when buying a lab grown diamond. Ritani serves customers well in that the vast majority of their lab grown diamonds are over 1 ct.

Because of the much lower price of lab grown diamonds Ritani offers most certificates from the International Gemological Institute, IGI.

Drawing on over four decades of experience, our Editor respects this decision because the cost for certification from the IGI is markedly less than the GIA. Using GIA could increase the cost of a lab grown diamond by a double digit percentage for diamond shoppers.

Here is a sample IGI certificate:

Our experts decided to take our comparative analysis one step further, based upon our reading of recent data reports ( we read them all). Leading independent diamond analyst Edahn Golan, writing in the January 9th 2025 TENORIS industry insights report, asserted that in 2024 the average price for a lab grown diamond was $2,443 and the average diamond size was 2.03.

So our experts analyzed which of the online jewelers in our survey had the most diamonds and the most value in that range. Ritani serves diamond shoppers like no other source because they have so many more diamonds from which to choose:

Ritani has about the same amount of diamonds in this range from which to choose than all the others in our survey combined. No other lab grown retailer has so many 2 carat and larger options for under $2500.

Here is an example of a 3.26 ct F VS2 Ideal cut for only $2453 from Ritani:

Summary of Ritani Lab Grown Diamonds

  • Largest selection of 2ct+ diamonds under $2,500 anywhere

  • Most F VS2 ideal 1ct+ diamonds among survey group

  • Best priced lab grown diamonds among survey group

  • 100% are conflict-free

Ritani has a lab grown diamond for any consumer, no matter their budget or their dreams. In fact they have the most diamonds in the sizes and qualities most consumers want of anyone we surveyed. Tens and even hundreds of thousands of diamonds to satisfy any budget. This may seem confusing or overwhelming at first (the paradox of choice) but buying a diamond is something a shopper must do slowly and methodically. A smart shopper must be unhurried and take the time to learn what is most important to them. This usually means managing the critical dynamic between the size or carat weight of the diamond versus the other 3 C’s that impact price. Ritani are well aware that many consumers do not need this number of diamond options from which to choose. But the skilled and experienced diamantaires at Ritani will be able to understand your needs. Later in this review we will report in detail on the expert customer service and guidance Ritani offers. But first we will delve into the very best reason to buy from RitanI: Their amazing prices.

Ritani Diamond Pricing and Value

Whether buying a natural diamond or a lab grown diamond, the prices available at Ritani are exceptional. When our analysts surveyed several other major online or digital first jewelers in a side by side comparison, Ritani was the best priced. Ritani are the prime source online diamond and diamond jewelry company. Because they have no stores and cut many of their own diamonds, they can sell for a fraction of what a consumer would pay in a traditional store and often less than the other online brands in our survey.

Ritani Natural Diamond Price Comparison

In keeping with our desire to maintain a consumer diamond cost under $2500 we compared a round 1 carat GIA certified I color, SI1 quality, Excellent cut with no fluorescence. Ritani was the best priced in our survey group by as much as $464:

Consumers will want to shop Ritani for lab grown diamonds before buying elsewhere. The larger the diamond size, the larger are the savings a diamond shopper can realize when buying from Ritani. In many cases you would be paying at least double or as much as triple shopping elsewhere.

When it comes to pricing, Ritani regularly delivers to consumers the lowest price of those we surveyed. This alone would make Ritani a top destination to shop for diamonds, diamond engagement rings and jewelry. When you add to that the super transparency of the Ritani selling system and the expertise of their diamond consultants, which we will review as part of our next section, it is difficult to think of a better place to buy.

Ritani Diamond Buying Experience

Ritani Website Usability and User Experience

Ritani is the leading innovator in delivering to consumers actual transparency into their pricing. But they are also the company with the most diamond expertise. This is valuable to the diamond consumer from the moment they view their first diamond. Where other websites focus on trying to sell shoppers the diamond they have clicked, Ritani is all about teaching the shopper about the diamond and educating them on its merits and its flaws. We will examine the Ritani education vs. the sales approach using the two diamonds below (Ritani vs James Allen) as examples:

In both cases we have selected an E Si2 emerald cut lab grown diamond. The first image above is a 2.52. We learn nothing about the diamond we have selected but we are told about four different types of credit we can apply for so we can buy it right away even if we don’t have the cash. This seller is focused exclusively on getting us to buy a diamond from them – any diamond.

Now let’s look at what Ritani puts in the exact same place on their webpage:

Where the first website was trying to sell us through credit, Ritani’s gemologists have posted an individual rating for every single diamond on their website. The Ritani’s experts have evaluated the diamond we selected according to six different gemological ratings and they give this one a 2 out of 6. And to make sure we see it, they highlight in red that our diamond is NOT eye-clean. They are flashing a red light educating us NOT to buy this diamond. And if that weren’t enough our diamond is rated by Ritani’s diamond experts as only a “good” on Sparkle, Luster and Value. Ritani could leave us to make the wrong conclusion about our diamond by just sharing the certificate report with us. In fact both Ritani and the first website’s certificates grade the polish and symmetry as “excellent”.

Customers can feel safe shopping at Ritani because Ritani is staffed by true diamond experts who are on their side. Whatever a shopper does not know about their diamond, Ritani’s veteran gem experts will teach them; they protect shoppers from making a mistake.

Our Editor has the utmost respect for this approach to doing business. With his decades of experience he can look at a diamond and seldom needs a certificate to tell him about a diamond’s value. But he also knows many novice buyers compare certificates without a thorough understanding of how all those measurements and words impact the look of a diamond. Ritani followed up on the diamond above. Within an hour they emailed me a six page report with even more information. Here are two pages from that report on the diamond we selected:

In the old diamond world in which our Editor and the Ritani owners were raised there was an unwritten code called ‘having a good hand’. It meant anyone who bought an uncut diamond from his father’s hand knew they could make money. His father would make his profit but he would not take advantage of a buyer or allow the buyer to make a mistake. Ritani has extended these old school values to their online diamond customers.

Ritani User Experience

Whether in a store or online, a careful consumer will want to closely examine and compare many different diamonds. Ritani has 360 degree unique videos for all of their diamonds. Our Co-Founder feels strongly that consumers are best served beginning their search for the perfect diamond online because they can view and compare many diamonds. This system is vastly superior to what is available in traditional jewelry stores. In a traditional store consumers would be lucky to have more than a few diamonds to compare and not the diamonds they select but the diamonds the store wants them to buy. In some stores a shopper might be given a 10x magnifying glass or loupe with which to view the diamond. Examining a diamond through a 10x loupe is a specialized skill. It can take weeks of training to begin to understand how to even hold and position the small, handheld magnifying glass. Moreover, understanding how and what to look for takes training and time and evolves over a lifetime. It isn’t right when a store salesperson puts a loupe in the customer’s left hand and a specialized, nearly 7 inch tweezer in the other hand and tells the customer to look at the diamond.

If a shopper should somehow manage a brief glimpse of a diamond this way–which is doubtful– they are only able to view one diamond at a time. This prevents customers from comparing diamonds side by side. On rare occasions a store might have a stereo microscope like this:

Under special LED white lighting meant to enhance the apparent color and sparkle, a buyer is shown one diamond at a time, and seldom at full magnification. Moreover, the prospective buyer is only able to view the top of the diamond and not the sides and bottom.

The video diamond images on Ritani magnify a diamond 10x-30x and allows a buyer to view every possible angle of the diamond.Through this technology a buyer is afforded a detailed inspection of all the diamond’s facets, top and bottom. This allows a diamond shopper to see much more of a diamond than possible with the 10x top only magnification you might get in a traditional store. On Ritani’s website a buyer can carefully inspect every detail of the diamond–every facet, on the top and the bottom and even a side profile. Of equal importance, this reduces the risk of misrepresentation, a common concern in online purchases.

Ritani Customer Service and Support

Ritani Diamond Expert Services

Diamond shoppers will be well served by the technology and the gemological experts that are available at Ritani.

Many first time buyers may not understand how to evaluate a diamond. The gemologists at Ritani were not trained by a mall store manager on their weekend job while at college. This should give consumers real confidence that they can trust what they are being told–and that they are being told and not sold. Ritani customer care are not commissioned salespeople. They are trained professionals.

The exceptional Ritani team of diamond experts is an important advantage for consumers for three primary reasons.

First, a diamond customer can take all the time he or she needs to get educated on diamonds by having this free teacher. In addition to cut, color, clarity and carat weight these experts can go deeply into the minutiae of diamond cutting like table and depth percentage. And the Ritani gemologists are armed with detailed information on every diamond. To make their online experience truly exceptional, Ritani analyzes every diamond and assigns it a score of up to 100 points. These proprietary scores and flag things like laser treatments, cavities, chips, feathers on the girdle, and a host of other better and worse things that often slip under the radar. Ritani wants you to know everything about your diamond. Though few buyers can detect these differences after a diamond is mounted and set, Ritani is devoted to full transparency. .

Secondly, the gemologist will seek to understand a customer’s budget and preferences and can pull from any more than half a million different diamonds. Ritani offers customers many options of every kind and at every price point and their experts will explain the pros and cons of each. Ritani are diamond people and they can help consumers make the right choice of the diamond of their dreams.

Finally, the Ritani diamond experts are there to educate a customer and help him or her find the diamond that best fits their budget and desires. They are not commissioned salespeople. They use the word ‘transparent’ to describe their approach to customers. Ritani is indeed transparent in every facet. The transparency extends to sharing with customers their own cost and profit on every diamond. We selected this 1 carat J SI1 natural diamond:

The diamond has a sales price of $1,795. And like every diamond posted for sale, natural or lab grown, it has a ‘diamond cost breakdown’ tab. The tab might as well be labeled ‘the transparency tab’ because in it Ritani shares their own cost of the diamond and the mark up they make before delivering it to the consumer:

The level of transparency Ritani is willing to share with consumers is unrivaled anywhere in our survey. Imagine asking a local jeweler to share their cost on the markup they intend to make when selling a shopper a diamond. The level of openness and transparency that define Ritani should give customers a comfort in buying from them. Ritani is unique in how they approach a diamond shopper and we have not seen anything like it in any other jewelers anywhere. There is no place like Ritani.

Ritani Diamond Certificates and the 4 C's

The diamond will be the most expensive part of any diamond engagement ring purchase so it is important to take the time to research and learn about the 4C’s. Our Editor explains in detail how to understand the GIA 1 carat J Si1 Certificate below:

Date

The date the diamond was examined and certified by the gemologists at GIA. This is important for consumers because if a diamond is old inventory, there is probably something undesirable or substandard about it.

Report Number

This is the individual GIA certificate number unique to this diamond. It has also been microscopically laser inscribed on the side of the diamond. It does not impact the refraction or shine and will not be visible without at least 10x magnification. This is important because it can protect buyers from diamond fraud or substitution, which, though rare, is a risk when repairing a ring at an unethical jeweler. The number is also logged on the global database of GIA certificates, providing a permanent record of your diamond. This can prove very important should a consumer need to make an insurance claim and cannot locate the printed certificate received when the purchase was made.

Shape

The outline of the diamond when viewed from the top down, while the cut is defined by the pattern of the facet arrangement. Most buyers prefer a round also known as a brilliant cut diamond. Other shapes are collectively referred to as fancies. The most popular of these today are oval, pear and emerald. Historically marquise and princess cuts were also popular,

Measurements

The diamond’s dimensions are in millimeters. For a round diamond it is the minimum and maximum diameter and the depth. Non round diamonds will use the length, width and depth. This is important information a buyer should learn and understand as these impact the brightness, fire or light of the diamond.

Carat Weight

The weight as measured in carats to the nearest 1/100th of a carat. A carat is equal to 0.2grams.

Color

Describes the degree to which a yellow hue is present. Color is graded on a scale from D-Z though most gem quality diamonds are within the D-J colors. D is the whitest and by K even an untrained eye can detect the yellow hue. This will be an important consideration for buyers as prices of a D color will be higher than a J, particularly for a natural diamond. The tradeoff a consumer will often have to make is between color and carat weight.

Clarity

Describes the degree to which natural inclusions or blemishes are visible under 10x magnification.

Cut

Determines the light reflecting properties, also known as the fire, scintillation or brilliance of the diamond’s appearance. In the opinion of our founder, cut is the most important of the 4C’s because even the finest diamond if poorly cut will not refract light optimally and thus will emit inferior fire and brilliance.

Polish

Polish describes the smoothness of a diamond's facets. A high-quality polish will leave little to no scratches and slightly optimizes for maximum brilliance.

Symmetry

Symmetry describes the degree to which a diamond's facets are mathematically aligned to emit maximum light. A symmetrical diamond emits high levels of fire and brilliance.

Fluorescence

Fluorescence causes diamonds to emit a soft, bluish glow when exposed to UV light. The Fluorescence grade describes the color, and strength of color when a diamond is graded under UV light. The founder prefers diamonds with no fluorescence.

Conclusion on Ritani Diamonds

Ritani is the only prime diamond cutting retailer in our survey and their expertise and pricing show it. Though a few online jewelers may have more diamonds, no jeweler has more of the diamonds shoppers want at the prices most shoppers seek than Ritani. They distinguish themselves from all other online jewelers by the transparency of their selling systems and the expertise of their diamond knowledge. They are vertically integrated and operated by the third and fourth generation of diamond experts from one of the premier and most respected families in the global diamond industry. Consumers can feel confident when buying from Ritani that they are being treated honestly, openly and transparently. Ritani makes it easy to shop for the right diamond or diamond engagement ring in the very best quality at a price that will surprise and delight consumers.

Rare Carat Diamond Engagement Rings

Ritani has access to the finest master jewelers in New York City because of the 75 year history the owners have as one of the premier diamond families on the city’s world famous 47th street. Sitting at the center and near the apex of the diamond jewelry world, Ritani knows how to craft luxurious engagement rings of the finest quality just as well as they know how to cut diamonds. It will come as no surprise that Ritani rings and jewelry are superbly manufactured and like their diamonds incredibly well priced.

What consumers will appreciate about Ritani’s engagement rings is how uncomplicated they make the process of choosing the design of your dreams. Ritani has seven style filters to initially help steer a customer to the kinds of designs they seek.

We appreciate the elegant simplicity of these filters because they encompass most every diamond engagement ring a bride could want or wish for. According to the Knot, 35% of brides select a 4 prong solitaire, 18% a hidden halo and 13% a classic halo. After 75 years of cutting diamonds and crafting engagement rings, Ritani already knows that two thirds of rounds of all brides prefer designs from one of these three style categories. And they’ve got over 100 stunning and beautifully crafted designs from which to choose. But that’s just the beginning. Once a shopper selects the design they love, they get to modify the ring with up to 10 different center diamond shapes and five different precious metals including platinum.

It can be hard for a bride to imagine what each possibility will look like on her hand. But with Ritani’s custom website, she doesn’t need to imagine because they make it simple to see every possibility. We continue to be impressed with the range of styles Ritani is able to produce. It is true you can get a solitaire from almost anywhere. But Ritani offers some cutting edge solitaires that are extremely difficult to manufacture. This Iris Bypass Bezel Engagement Ring must be handmade to exactly fit each unique diamond a customer selects.

Diamond engagement ring shoppers might find a simple classic solitaire ring with a full bezel set round center diamond if they search long enough. But few jewelers have the master craftsmen who can build a ring and set a fancy shape center in an undulating, wavey solitaire band with a twisted iris shaped flower on top. 75 years in the business means Ritani has these master jewelers at the ready to make any ring of which a bride can dream.

This includes custom designed rings. Ritani features this right at the top of their engagement ring page:

Consumers should be thrilled to know that Ritani is not a mass producer of rings. Every piece of jewelry they make is custom crafted one at a time by hand and goes through a rigorous inspection process.

The breadth and range of designs and price points offered by Ritani includes everything the vast majority of diamond engagement ring shoppers might want. As importantly, Ritani offers diamond engagement ring shoppers fantastic value. For an entry level shopper, perhaps a young couple also looking to put a down payment on their first home, their classic solitaire setting is not only beautiful but can be customized to four types of gold colors or platinum. The pricing of this 14kt gold solitaire (on March 30, 2025), at $430, is among the very best priced solitaires we found:

Taken together with a diamond like this F VS2 Oval 1.00ct that costs $584

A Ritani diamond engagement ring customer needs to spend only $771 (before sales tax) to get a scintillating, beautifully cut, colorless, certified diamond set in a handmade 14kt gold ring.

This is a stunning engagement ring whose color, clarity and fiery brilliance will make any bride the envy of her wedding party–and leave the newly married couple plenty of money for the house!

Our Editor considers this to be one of the best entry level diamond engagement ring values available anywhere. It checks all the boxes an informed and discerning consumer should want.

Ritani brings to diamond engagement ring shoppers the best jewelers in the world without the expense of brand building or operating stores. The designs they offer range from the simplest to the complex and from the classic to the cutting edge. No traditional store can offer as much choice as Ritani. Their master jewelers are some of the very best and their quality control is notoriously strict. Shoppers will find the diamond engagement ring of their dreams at a price they never dreamed possible at Ritani.

Ritani Fine Jewelry

Ritani held some wonderful surprises within its fine jewelry collection we did not expect to find. Like all major online jewelers they have a healthy representation of finely crafted jewels in the three classically, timeless categories: stud earrings, hoop earrings and tennis bracelets. No woman’s wardrobe is complete without these and really little more is needed beyond these for most people. As a highly rated husband for many decades, our Editor can assure any gift shopper that the stud and hoop earring will always fit her ears right out of the box and will always be a noble expression of your love and shared bond. Whether it is an anniversary, birthday, new baby or just because, these timeless symbols of love and devotion never go out of style. For the self-purchasing woman, these styles will compose the core of her jewelry wardrobe. The quality of the craftsmanship is outstanding, and is held to the same strict control standards of their diamond engagement rings.

We were very surprised to find two outstanding designer collections of fashion and precious jewelry on the Ritani website. These entry level collections were on trend, young and elegant but still fun. For gift items around $1,000 the Meira T. collection was fresh, exciting and well priced.

We fell in love with this 14kt gold delicate coin necklace

We were further surprised to see an Italian fashion designer Brosway featuring a select collection of gift items under $100. The owners of Ritani know many companies throughout the broad universe of jewelry. Of all the diamond jewelers we surveyed, Ritani is the only one to recognize that apart from the classic timeless diamond earrings and bracelet mentioned above, most women prefer to have a breadth of moderately priced accessory jewelry in their wardrobe rather than one or two pieces costing thousands or tens of thousands of dollars.

For the shopper looking to buy the timeless essentials of any diamond jewelry wardrobe, Ritaniis able to deliver everything a consumer could want in superb quality. Readers may notice we only review lab grown diamonds in our coverage of fine fashion jewelry. Our Editor recommended only lab grown diamonds for fashion self purchases and gifting. At the writing of this review gold had reached an historical high of $3,156 per ounce and rising. That creates an even more compelling argument to choose the less expensive but equally beautiful lab grown diamond alternative for all your fashion jewelry purchases.

We appreciate Ritani’s concise and elegant approach to fine jewelry. We shudder at websites that overwhelm customers with thousands of very different fashion items. The more time a customer spends on those websites, the more everything can start to look the same. Many customers often leave more confused than when they arrived. Ritani has simplified the gifting process by curating an assortment starting from $25 fun jewelry up to offering a 15ct lab grown diamond tennis bracelet for thousands. They have something for every budget and every one of life’s special moments of celebration.

Ritani Aftercare

Shipping

Ritani offers free shipping within the United States in discreet packaging both ways on all orders regardless of the price of the order. A buyer has 30 days to return their purchase and Ritani will pay the return shipping. This is zero risk buying,

Returns

Ritani stands behind everything they sell with an industry standard 30 day return policy offering a 100% refund. This is really important for buyers when buying your diamond ring or jewelry sight unseen. This return guarantee with full refund takes the risk out of an online purchase from Ritani. More importantly a customer can wear, examine and show others her diamond engagement ring, wedding band or jewelry in her own home and under natural light. Jewelry stores spend a fortune on the best, whitest ceiling lights. And most in-cabinet lighting is just 18 inches from the jewelry. This kind of light is entirely different from most people’s homes or normal outdoor daylight. Jewelry store lights are engineered to make all their diamonds explode with light. Better to select your diamond, diamond engagement ring or diamond jewelry in the lighting of your own home.

Warranty

Ritani offers a lifetime warranty against manufacturer's defects on their engagement and wedding rings.

Ring Resizing

Ritani offers an industry best free ring resizing anytime within the first year of your purchase. And they will cover shipping costs both ways. This is a really important feature for diamond engagement ring shoppers. First of all, most grooms will get delivery of the ring at least 30 days before they pop the question. And living with your ring at work, the gym or while showering can be very different than sitting on your couch. Also, it is not unusual for a woman’s finger size to fluctuate. Ritani really gets this right and it shows, yet again, the understanding of jewelry customers that comes with 75 years in the business.

Customer Service

Ritani is staffed by experienced diamond and jewelry people. Just having a person and not a robot on the other end of a phone call or a chat to discuss a diamond, jewelry style or the status of a purchase, repair or return distinguishes Ritani from other jewelers. Their experts are not on commission. They are there to help you make the best selection within your budget.

Ritani Review Conclusion

In conclusion, Ritani is the prime diamond source jeweler for all your diamond and diamond engagement ring needs. They are the jeweler most likely to have the largest selection of diamonds at the critical $2,500 and lower budget of most consumers. This is largely because Ritani has some of the very lowest prices we have seen in any of our surveys. They have the most diamonds from which to select the diamond of your dreams, at a price you never dreamed possible. Ritani makes dreams come true.
